Narayan peth and Narayanpet are siblings as the art form originated in Maharshtra but also migrated to Andhra during Shivaji Maharaj’s rule thus dating back to 17th century. These sarees are known for their light weight, durability and the signature design of lustrous , vibrant contrasting border and pallu coupled with small rudraksha motifs in zari, combining in itself comfort and beauty. Narayanpet saree weaving is unique as eight sarees are made at one go on a loom . The weaving of temple border and arrowheads design in the pallu is a unique feature of all Narayanpet silk sarees. This ethnic, timeless weave wins the hearts of the trendy 21st century women today.
